UMD COMMUNITY ALERT: Off Campus Sound of Gunfire
Police are on scene at Lakeland Rd and Rhode Island Ave for the sound of gunfire. Witness reported that a suspect in a dark color sedan fired 3 shots in the air and then left the scene. The last know direction of travel for the suspect vehicle was east on Campus Drive, heading towards Kenilworth Avenue, away from campus. More information to follow when it becomes available.

UMD experienced an unrelated brief network disruption to the wifi network due to a disconfigured switch. The wifi outage is now resolved, and the wifi network is restored.
