On December 4, 2024, at approximately 12:51 p.m., an armed carjacking was reported the University of Maryland Police Department that occurred by the Manokin Building, which is located at 5801 University Research Court, by River Road. UMD ALERT: Armed Carjacking UPDATE
Police are on scene. A suspect armed with a knife exited a SUV and approached an occupied blue sedan. The suspect pulled the victim out of the vehicle, entered the blue sedan and left. The SUV and blue sedan were last seen traveling towards Kenilworth Ave. Stay away from the area. More information to follow when available.
