  • UMPD Officers recognized at Wednesday’s Hometown Heroes Night

    Congratulations to Sgt. Robert Jenshoej, Cpl. John Fitzgerald, and Cpl. Mathew Suthard (Pictured left to right). Yesterday, the University of Maryland Athletic Department recognized our officers at the men’s basketball game for their dedication and service to our community. On September 4, 2015, Sgt. Jenshoej was working the men’s soccer game at Ludwig Field. At the end of the game, a surge of fans in the bleachers caused the safety rail to break. Sgt. Jenshoej saw this and ...quickly ran to the railing to prevent fans from falling through. Thanks to Sgt. Jenshoej’s quick response, no injuries occurred.
