UMD Safety Notice: Off-Campus Armed Robbery
The purpose of this UMD Safety Notice is to make you aware of an incident that occurred off-campus near the University of Maryland, College Park campus. The following is a synopsis of an incident reported to the Prince George's County Police Department.
INCIDENT: Off-Campus Armed Robbery
OCCURRED: February 25, 2017 / between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m.
LOCATION: Knox Road between Hopkins Avenue and Dickinson Avenue, College Park, MD

On February 25, 2017, at approximately 10:48 a.m., the University of Maryland Police Department was notified by the Prince George's County Police Department of an off-campus armed robbery. A group of males were walking on Knox Road when they approached a UMD student and another male (no affiliation) to ask a question. At that time, the UMD student and the other male were robbed at gun point. Property was taken.
The Prince George's County Police Department is conducting an investigation. Individuals with any information regarding this incident or the possible identity of suspects are encouraged to contact police (911 or 301-352-1200).
