BRIEF DETAILS:

On February 17, 2025, at approximately 2:22 a.m., the University of Maryland Police Department (UMPD) responded to the area of eastbound University Boulevard before Metzerott Road for the sound of gunfire.

Police arrived on scene and searched the area. Two empty shell casings were found in the roadway, not far from the speed camera. A Student Police Aide assigned to the gate house at Paint Branch Drive confirmed with police that they head the sound of gunfire.
