The purpose of this e-mail is to make you aware of an incident that occurred off-campus near the University of Maryland, College Park campus. The following is a synopsis of an incident reported to the Prince George's County Police Department.
INCIDENT: Off-Campus Armed Carjacking
OCCURRED: September 13, 2025 (Saturday)/ Between 3:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.
LOCATION: 6800 block of Dartmouth Avenue, College Park, Maryland

BRIEF DETAILS:
On September 13, 2025, at approximately 5:18 p.m., the University of Maryland Police Department (UMPD) was notified by the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) of an off campus armed carjacking. The incident occurred between 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m., on September 13, 2025, in the 6800 block of Dartmouth Avenue.
A man reported to the Prince George’s County Police Department that he was in the process of completing a ride share trip with three passengers. When he arrived in the 6800 block of Dartmouth Avenue, two of the three passengers presented handguns and demanded the driver’s vehicle. The victim complied and the suspects left the area in the victim’s vehicle in an unknown direction.
Upon clearing the call, UMPD was notified by PGPD that the victim’s vehicle had been recovered.
The Prince George’s County Police Department is continuing to investigate this incident. Anyone with information related to this incident and/or the possible identity of the suspect are encouraged to contact the Prince George’s County Police Department (911 or 301-352-1200).
