UMD Community Advisory: Voyeur Incident

**Advisory**

The purpose of this e-mail is to make you aware of an incident that occurred off-campus near the University of Maryland, College Park campus. The following is a synopsis of an incident reported to the Prince George's County Police Department.

INCIDENT:                 Off-Campus Voyeur Incident

OCCURRED:              April 27, 2026 (Monday)/ Approximately 11 p.m.

LOCATION:               4600 block of Knox Road, College Park, Maryland

PGPD CASE #:           26-0022302

BRIEF DETAILS:

On April 27, 2026, at approximately 11:14 p.m., a University of Maryland Police Department officer was in the area of the 4600 block of Knox Road, when two women approached the officer to file a report. The Prince George’s County Police Department was notified and responded out to the scene.

It was reported that an unknown suspect approached a residence in the 4600 block of Knox Road. The suspect was peeping the windows of the residence and touching the door knobs. The suspect then left the scene.

At that time, the incident was cleared as a trespassing report. On April 28, 2026, at approximately 8:41 p.m., the University of Maryland Police Department received confirmation that the incident type was changed to voyeur incident.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is continuing to investigate this incident.

Anyone with information related to this incident and/or the possible identity of the suspect are encouraged to contact the Prince George’s County Police Department (911 or 301-352-1200). If you observe suspicious activity or behavior, contact the police immediately by calling 911.
